Aston Villa have signed Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent transfer, the clubs have confirmed. The 18-year-old Senegal international leaves PSG after progressing from the academy into the first team.
Villa did not publish the length of Mbaye’s contract or a transfer fee in their announcement. The forward was one of two deadline-day additions alongside centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
Mbaye joined PSG at the age of ten and became the youngest player to appear for the club in Ligue 1 when he faced Le Havre in August 2024 at 16 years, six months and 23 days.
He signed his first professional contract in 2025 and later scored his first senior goal in a 6-1 league win over Saint-Étienne. PSG said he leaves after 42 first-team appearances and eight trophies.
The winger also gained Champions League experience, including a start in PSG’s away victory over Barcelona during the 2025/26 campaign. His club honours include two Champions League titles and two French league championships.
Mbaye represented France at youth level before choosing Senegal in 2025. He was selected for the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup, scoring against France in the latter tournament.
The move adds another young attacking option to Unai Emery’s Villa squad. The club have not announced when Mbaye will be available to make his debut.

His 42 first-team appearances included matches in the Champions League and Club World Cup. PSG also listed two Champions League titles among his honours, reflecting his involvement in a squad that won eight trophies during his senior breakthrough.
What happens next
Villa must now introduce Mbaye to a new league and a different tactical environment without placing the full attacking burden on an 18-year-old. His pace and willingness to receive wide provide an immediate option even as his role develops.
No debut date accompanied the transfer announcement. Match registration, training and Emery’s assessment will determine when Mbaye first appears in a Villa squad.
